By Rod Nunez, FinalScore Contributor Draft day is right around the corner. On June the 3rd, MLB teams will try to find their next superstar during the first 2 rounds. Day 2 will see rounds 3 to 10 off the board, while day 3 will wrap up the 40 round event. Here's our mock draft for the first 10 picks: 1. Baltimore Orioles: Adley Rutschman, C, Oregon State
The switch hitting catcher is the complete package offensively and defensively. With an advanced approach at the plate, walking more than he has struck out. His profile is not so different than a former Orioles pick, Matt Wieters. 2. KC Royals: Bobby Witt Jr. Colleyville Heritage HS Bobby Witt Jr. is a potential five-tool player with the chance to stick at shortstop due to his plus range and arm, that allows him to throw mid 90's fastballs on the mound, but his bat is his ticket to the majors as scouts project him as a potential 20-20 player, the consensus here is that if Rutschman gets picked first, the Royals will go with Bobby Witt Jr. 3. Chicago White Sox: Andrew Vaughn, 1B, Cal. Vaughn is an undersized first baseman with a huge bat. Considered by many the best all around bat in the class, Vaughn has a chance to hit for average and power, he would add another big bat to an already stacked White Sox farm system. 4. Miami Marlins: J.J Bleday, OF, Vanderbilt. A former 2-way player in HS, Bleday provides plenty of power to go with a plus arm that should help him handle RF with ease. 5. Detroit Tigers: Riley Greene, OF, Hagerty HS (Fla). Greene has one of the smoothest swings in this draft class, his power is coming along and his approach at the plate is very advanced, his arm is below average, so he projects more as a corner OF'er, most likely in left. 6. San Diego Padres: C.J Abrams, SS, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS (GA). Abrams' best tool is his plus plus speed, but that's not all he has, Abrams is also one of the top HS hitters of this year's class, he's been drawing comparisons to Dee Gordon and like him, he could find himself playing 2B and/or CF once he turns pro. 7. Cincinnati Reds: Nick Lodolo, LHP, Texas Christian. The tall and lanky Lodolo (6'6 185 lb) could be the first pitcher taken in this bat-heavy class. Lodolo works with a mid 90's fastball with good late sink and has a promising slider/change up combo, he already has above average command. 8. Texas Rangers: Hunter Bishop, OF, Arizona State. Bishop has plus to plus-plus power and the ability to stick in CF. There's some swing and miss in his game, but Bishop has been climbing up the draft ladder consistently and is now a threat to go within the first 10 picks. 9. Atlanta Braves: Alek Manoah, RHP, West Virginia. Manoah looks the part at 6'6 260 lb and he backs that up with a fastball that reaches 97 mph and a plus slider, his change up and command still need work, but he's shown vast improvement in those areas so far this spring. 10. San Francisco Giants: Bryson Scott, SS, UNLV Scott is often compared to the current Giants SS, Brandon Crawford, with his solid all-around game. Scott has a solid approach at the plate, to go along with his plus hit tool and bat to ball skills. Defensively, he has a good chance to stick at SS, which could boost his value even further. Don't miss this year's draft starting on Monday, June 3rd at 7 pm ET.
